About AIUEC
Organisations of the University employees on the National level came into existence in the year 1967 at Lucknow University with the initiative taken by Comrade Shakti Pada Mitter and others. The confederation was born with Comrade George Fernandes as the founder President.
Aims & Objects:
a) To foster fellow feelings and nationalism in the employees of the University, to make them conscious of their responsibilities towards the society and to think good of the employees and the nation as one and the same. ‘Employee” means “non-teaching” employees including officers of the University who are not from the teaching staff.
b) To increase the efficiency and develop a sense of discipline among the employees of the Universities.
c) To create cordial relations between the employees and employees and employers of the Universities.
d) To see that each and every employees of the University gets an opportunity for all-round development of personality leading to intellectual refinement, moral perfection, social and National deep sense of performance and safeguard their interest by all legitimate constitutional means.
e) To make strong and active organization among all categories of employees of the University.
f) To strive for better service conditions and raise the standard of living of the employees of the Universities.
g) To settle disputes and solve problems of the employees of the Universities in a constitutional way.
h) To adopt necessary constitutional and democratic means to achieve the aims and objects of the Confederation.
i) To affiliate the Federation/ Unions/ Associations of the Employees of the Indian Universities.
j) To guide, direct and co-ordinate the activities of the affiliated units in matters of All India importance.
